When I Work Relocating To The North Loop

When I Work, a St. Paul-based startup that designs work scheduling software, signed a short-term lease that will relocate the company to the Ford Center in downtown Minneapolis. The new 28,000-square-foot space will accommodate an additional 100 employees in the coming year and a half—about double their current staff size.
 
“As a company, we’re thrilled about our upcoming move,” CEO Chad Halvorson said in a statement. He added that they looked at properties throughout the Twin Cities but that “in the end, the energy and growth opportunities of the North Loop won us over.”
 
The anticipated relocation will take place over the next few months and comes after $15 million in Series B venture capital from Drive Capital, Arthur Ventures and High Alpha.
 
The company will occupy the fifth floor of the Ford Center, at one time a manufacturing plant for the car company and now owned by the Pohlad family’s United Properties. It currently has several prominent tenants, including marketing agency Olson, HGA architecture firm and Go Media.
 
When I Work’s mobile scheduling app and software enables employers to schedule, track and communicate with hourly workers. More than 50,000 companies in 50 countries currently use the software.
 
The company is one of the fastest growing in the Twin Cities – it more than doubled its headcount during the last year.
