CoCo Expanding Its Grain Exchange Space

CoCo is massively expanding its downtown Minneapolis location to accommodate 250 more people, crediting increased demand for flexible office space and the revitalization of the East Town area.
 
The coworking office company is adding 15,000-square-feet to its office in the Grain Exchange building (400 South Fourth Street) and is expected to have the space available by December. Among the amenities touted as part of the expansion are spaces for 23 businesses that have 2 to 10 employees, dedicated desks for individual entrepreneurs, private meeting rooms, “collaborative workspaces” and a mother’s room. The original space, located on the former grain exchange trading floor, will also get a facelift.
 
“This expansion is equivalent to the opening of a new location for us, in terms of the space we will occupy,” CoCo CEO Kyle Coolbroth said in a statement. “Over the past few years, we’ve learned a lot about what entrepreneurs and small businesses want and need in a work environment and this new build out and updates to our spaces will reflect that.”
 
In addition to the East Town space, CoCo currently has locations in the Uptown and Northeast neighborhoods of Minneapolis, Lowertown St. Paul and Chicago’s West Loop.
