Egan Company Buys Assets Of Maple Grove-Based Firm
The Brooklyn Park-based contractor said the deal will boost its presence in the electrical control systems market.
June 26, 2014
Egan Company acquired Maple Grove-based automated controls company Sterling Automation, Inc., for an undisclosed sum on Wednesday.
Sterling is an engineering and construction firm that focuses on electrical control systems and panels. Egan, a Brooklyn Park-based contractor, said that acquiring Sterling’s assets will enhance its market position as a provider of electrical control systems.
As a result of the deal, all three of Sterling’s employees, including owner Mike Berg, joined Egan, and Sterling closed its Maple Grove facility.
Egan currently has 926 employees and generated $210 million in revenue in 2013.
Egan said it will be able to offer its newly acquired Sterling customers expertise on mechanical, millwrights, electrical, and building systems.
“Egan holds a strong commitment to delivering value and efficiency to its customers,” Berg said in a statement. “By joining forces, we’re able to exceed our customers’ ever-growing needs by leveraging the total package resources of Egan.”
