You can add yet another local brewery to the growing list of Twin Cities “taprooms.”
George Kellerman, co-founder of Tin Whiskers Brewing, told Eater that his business has purchased space in downtown St. Paul’s Rossmor building.
Tin Whiskers, which has been brewing test batches for the last few years out of a house in Roseville, plans to open a “taproom-focused microbrewery” in late spring, Eater reported.
Taprooms were made possible by the 2011 passage of the so-called “Surly Bill,” which introduced a new type of license that allows commercial brewers that produce fewer than 250,000 barrels annually to sell pints of their beer on-site.
Twin Cities Business recently published an extensive roundup of taprooms that have either opened recently or are on the horizon.
Many local breweries are also expanding, including Fulton, Summit, and Indeed Brewing, while Surly Brewing broke ground Tuesday on its much-anticipated “destination brewery.”
