MOM Brands Moves HQ From Mpls. to Lakeville

The new headquarters will reportedly be located in a building next door to a technical center that MOM Brands has operated since 2009; the two buildings together comprise 165,000 square feet and are spread across 20-plus acres.

MOM Brands, which in February changed its name from Malt-O-Meal, is reportedly moving its headquarters from downtown Minneapolis to Lakeville.

According to a Star Tribune report, 200 of the company’s employees already work at a technical center in Lakeville, which it has occupied since 2009. The new headquarters will be located in a building next door. Approximately 100 employees will move there from MOM Brands’ current headquarters within downtown Minneapolis’ IDS Center.

The move is expected to be completed in 2014, the Star Tribune reported. The two Lakeville buildings together comprise more than 165,000 square feet and are spread across 20-plus acres, which will create a corporate campus for the company.

Linda Fisher, MOM Brands’ director of marketing and communications, told the Minneapolis newspaper that having all employees in one location will encourage collaboration and reduce the time that workers spend shuttling between Minneapolis and Lakeville.

MOM Brands reportedly expects to close on its purchase of the new building within the next 90 days.
